Because football isn’t just a sport — it’s a way to build confidence, belonging, and community.
The Football For Community Development Trust works in partnership with Capital Football and the Wellington Phoenix to deliver the Football For All programme across Aotearoa.
The Trust is committed to strengthening communities across Aotearoa New Zealand by supporting participation in sport—especially football—and in recreation, leisure, and cultural activities that contribute to individual and collective wellbeing.
Established in 2019, specifically to enable the support of refugee and migrants in Wellington, the Trust quickly realised the need to expand the programme reach and become an encompasing inclusion programme for priority communities facing barriers to participant, across all of Aotearoa.
The Football For Community Devlopment Trust consists of six trustees:
Todd Bryant (Chair), David Dome, David Meiklejohn, Melinda Hodgson, David Clarke, Superintendant Rakesh Naidoo (MNZM)
