OUR STORY

Where it began

A simple idea
that every young person should have the chance to play
became the foundation for a programme that now supports communities across Aotearoa.

The Beginning

Football For All began in Wellington in 2020, supporting a small group of players from refugee and migrant backgrounds who faced barriers to participate in local football.

Growing Beyond Wellington

What started as a local initiative quickly grew into a nationwide programme — now delivered through the Football For the Community Development Trust in partnership with Capital Football, Wellington Phoenix, and the remaining five New Zealand Football regional federations.

From local initiative to national impact.

Today, Football For All supports hundreds of young people each year, helping them find their place in the game and in their community.
